Basketball fans should do their best to go and watch Maccabi Tel Aviv, a club that dates back to the 1930s and plays in the Menora Mivtachim Arena in downtown Tel Aviv. The team has won an impressive six EuroLeague championships, an Adriatic League championship, 52 Israeli League championships, and more. They have a number of famous former players such as Brian Randle and Jeremy Pargo.
The city is also home to a football team, also named Maccabi Tel Aviv. It is Israel’s oldest and most successful football team, being one of only three Israeli teams to ever progress to the UEFA Champions League group stage. The team play at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, and while Israeli football may not be the best in the world, there is always a great atmosphere at the matches and an enjoyable experience for any sports fan.
If you are looking to do some sports yourself then you can enjoy cycling and running tracks in the Yarkon Park and also along the seafront. Those who are runners can take part in a number of events run in the city each year. There is a night run and a marathon, and they always have amazing atmospheres.
